Hot off the runway!! Zoya Designer Cream NYFW Collection for Fall 2012

More polishes inspired by and taken off the runways of NYFW.  I love the boldness and richness of a crème polish and Zoya has brought out 6 of them!  I think that once you have a great formula and intense pigments, a crème can stand on its own!

The Designer Cream NYFW collection!

Natty

Natty – described as a smoked navy blue cream.  This is gorgeous! Full coverage and opaque in just 2 coats, a beautiful dusky colour!  I can’t think of any colour that I own, that is close to this one.  I really like the addition of grey to this polish, which makes this not so dark and inky, and therefore pretty unique.  M.A.C.’s Blue India is lighter and more blue and China Glaze’s First Mate was less grey and more blue.

Evvie

Evvie – described as an evergreen green cream.  This shade was custom made for Peter Som’s show.  This is a dark, green colour.  There is definitely some grey thrown in there.  When I think of evergreen, I usually think of something a little brighter but again I like the smokiness of the colour.  Again, the formula was not too thick and I got full coverage with 2 coats.

Noot

Noot – described as a charcoal green gray cream.  So this is actually a gray with a some green as opposed to the other way around.  When swatched, it actually looks really close to Evvie.  By itself it is a great colour.  China Glaze’s Concrete Catwalk is a dark grey, with no green.  I would have liked to see more distinction between Evvie and Noot, maybe make Noot more blackened or something.

Monica

Monica – a dark mulberry purple cream.  This is probably the most sought after colour.  Oxblood is huge this season and here is a rich, deep sultry, beautiful colour.  I like that this colour is still bright enough to show up as purple.  Very classic and would be great as a manicure and pedicure.  This is not the most unique colour in the world, but it will never go out of style.  The formula is again really good on this one.

Toni

Toni – Dark maroon red cream.  Another current colour, and this is the red version of Monica.  This is closer to oxblood.  Classic and opaque in 2 coats

Rekha

Rekha – Blood red cream.  This shade was created for fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra’s show in tribute to Bibhu’s Indian mother’s heritage.  Another classic red shade.  Really shiny, rich and bright red.  I think that this will do well with 3 coats.  This looks great on all skin tones as it is not too cool or warm.  Ladies who are medium to dark skintones should find this colour very pretty indeed!

All the cremes!

So I think this is a great collection, every colour that is very haute right now is in this collection.  I think that Natty and Rekha re my favourites!  Most gave full coverage in 2 coats and the pigments were rich and shiny.  I would have liked to see maybe a dusky orange or a greyed black.

Overall Grade: A-
