Hey! I did this bronze summer skin look a while ago when I was in Trinidad. It’s the look that I also wearing in my latest video (check it out here). This is a great look for warmer weather. Let’s face it, no one wants to wear a lot of makeup when it’s hot, but you still want that glowy, bronzy, sun-kissed look!
There are a few keys to getting this effortless look. First start with good skincare and good skin. The better the condition of your skin, the less product you would have to use. Definitely treat your skin with the utmost care, start with the basics, drink lots of water and wear sunscreen. Even if you don’t have amazing skin, you can still get this look. I know the trend now to pile on the foundation and to have super heavy contouring but this is a no #cakeface look. Pick the lightest coverage that allows you to even out your skintone. If you have eruptions or texture due to acne, you can’t really cover that up with foundation without looking overtly made up. So just pick something lightweight.
Bronze Summer Skin – The Details
Here’s what I used for this look:
- For my eyebrows I lightly filled them in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown and Tinted Brow Gel in Espresso.
- Mixed 2 parts Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrate with 1 part Ardency Inn Americana Custom Coverage Concentrate in Deep Beige. This gives sheer to light coverage. Applied with fingers.
- M.A.C. Paintpot in Groundwork (skin colour base)
- Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in Au Naturel – Mineral Earth on the lid applied with Sigma E25 Blending Brush *this is an affiliate link
- M.A.C. Kohl Power eye liner in Feline – black
- L’Oréal Voluminous Miss Manga Black Angel Mascara in Extra Black
- On the cheeks, Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold – a beautiful shimmery golden rose.
- As a highlighter, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Topaz – applied to top to the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose.
- Oyin Handmade Honey Stick on the lips.
If you tend to get a little oiler, you can use a little translucent powder in your T-zone. That’s it. The goal is keeping the makeup light, and simple and glow (shimmer) in the right places, where the sun would naturally hit your face. Use the lightest coverage foundation (base) and use concealer in places that you need a little extra help. You can build on this look by adding a bright, colourful lip or some lashes for extra drama.
