Last Tuesday, I went to the sneak preview of the Fall’09 collection by MAC: The Make-up Art Cosmetics collection. This event took place at the MAC boutique in SoHo. As usual, this was a fabulous affair by MAC! There were hors d’oeuvres and wine of course, and in addition, you could have had your portrait drawn! I did not get one done as the line was out the door!
As some may know, MAC stands for Make-Up Art Cosmetics and MAC created a huge 3-in-1 colour collection! They commissioned 3 famous artists (Richard Phillips, Painter, Maira Kalman, Illustrator, and Marilyn Minter, Photographer) who use 3 different media, as inspiration. Each artist gave their interpretations for each part of the collection. Overall, this collection is both bright and subdued, taking advantage of the bright colours of summer and the more subtle colours of fall. There is a fair mix of different textures in this collection: matte, shimmer and frost.
The Richard Phillips interpretation contains 5 lipsticks, 4 lipglasses, 2 powder blushes, 3 quads and 1 Plushlash mascara.
The Maira Kalman interpretation contains 6 single eyeshadows and 5 Technakohl Liners.
The Marilyn Minter interpretation contains 4 Pigments, 4 Glitters and 1 Gloss Texture.
Collection comes out in stores on August 20th, 2009 but look out for it online on Tuesday 18th at maccosmetics.com.
More in-depth review to come!!!
