Hey!

Here’s a quick review of a blush that I think fits well with the current trend of bright, bold colour – Kevyn Aucoin’s The Pure Powder Glow in Fira.

Kevyn Aucoin The Pure Powder Glow in Fira

So I purchased this blush from the Kevyn Aucoin sample sale a while ago and I am in love with it!

It came in clamshell packaging with just the pan inside, which is fine, because the pan is magnetic and it fits perfectly in my Z palette.

Packaging

The colour is described as ‘mango’ and although that is not the first thing to come to mind, this is an intense, heavily pigmented matte bright orange.  It’s gorgeous!! It reminds me of NARS Exhibit A, but I don’t have that colour yet to make comparison swatches.  The powder is very finely milled, which makes it very smooth and really a joy to apply.  Fira is deep  and intense! It can look scary but apply it with a light hand using a fluffy brush.  I like to use an angled blush brush, a duo fibre brush or even a fan brush.

This orange does not lean too red or yellow so it would look great on all skin tones – from pale to deep.  This looks particularly amazing on deep, dark skin and works well when paired with a bronzer.   It gives that glow that everyone’s after.  I can wear this all day and had minimal fading even after working out.

The only thing is that this costs about $40…US.  Yes, so it can be real pricey for some, but this colour is beautiful.  I recommend it, if you can afford it.

It is available at Kevyn Aucoin online, beauty.com, Bergdorf Goodman and other online retailers.

Overall Grade: A
