Review: Make-Up Art Cosmetics as seen by Marilyn Minter

Photo from invite

The final part of this collection has pigments and glitters.  Personally, I LOVE the promo picture for this collection.  It’s so…glittery!!! Ha! There is a mix of  new, unreleased colours, repromoted and PRO-only colours.  This was my favourite part of the collection.  For more details, click the link below….

Pigment

Brash & Bold – Bright, magenta/fushsia with frost finish

Push the Edge – Bright, bold, deep eggplant/purple with shimmer finish

Cocomotion – Light brownish gold with gold shimmer finish

Heritage Rouge – Deep reddish plum colour with frost finish

I love these colours!!! Brash & Bold reminds me of MUFE # 58, but a darker, shimmery version.  My personal fave is Push the Edge.  I am a complete sucka for anything purple and had to get this.  The colour is dark, bright and beautiful and not too frosty.  I think its actually similar to another amazing M.A.C. pigment Grape with with less shimmer.  I actually did not have Grape and this would be a great substitute! LOVE it!! I think Grape is a PRO-only colour. Cocomotion is a repromote from the Rushmetal collection of summer ’07.  I bought this then and it is one of my favourite pigments.  I looks amazing on warm, bronze, olive and darker skintones.  It’s neutral enough to work well on those with cooler undertones. Heritage Rouge came out with the OverRich collection in fall ’08 and it’s permanent in the PRO store.  So you don’t have to rush out to get this one.  The pigments are eye safe and can be used on other parts of the body.

These are available online and in stores for USD$19.50

Glitter

Fuchsia – bright, deep magenta

Gold – bright gold

Reflects Rust – bright, deep red

Reflects Copper – bright, deep burnt orange

First off, Glitters are NOT eye safe.  So if you do use them, that’s all you!! With that being said, these are gorgeous!  At least 3 of these colours are permanent but only available in at the PRO store.  These are Reflects Rust, Reflects Copper and Fuchsia.  I am tempted to pick up Reflects Rust as it would be amazing on the center of the lips and Fuchsia would be amazing layered on Violet Trance or MUFE # 92.  Gold is a true gold colour and is very pretty.  Glitters as well as the pigments can also be used on there parts of the body, such as lips, cheeks and nails. To help the glitters stay, use Fix+ or Mixing Medium and pack on with the 242 brush.

These are available online and in stores for USD$19.50

Gloss Texture

Clear Gloss

This is a clear gloss to be used on the skin alone or mixed with other products.  This could actually be used on the eyelids for that popular dark glossy eye look.

This is available online and in stores for USD$18.00
