This is the last part of the Zoya Fall 2012 collection.  And this one is all metallic!! Colour and drama!

Zoya Ray, FeiFei and Daul

Zoya Elisa, Suri and Song

Let me just dig in…

Ray

Ray – This is described as a pine green metallic.  It’s dark green with fine, dark green microshimmer.  The colour appears to be like a blackened green, and while it is still obvious that the polish is green, it’s less bright that say China Glaze’s Emerald Sparkle (which is more jewelled-toned and more shimmery) and the shimmer helps make it not appear black.  It is a pretty colour, but not terribly unique.  It’s similar to China Glaze’s Gussied Up Green (GUG), in terms of darkness but GUG is more olive.  Illamasqua’s  Viridian (one of my favourite greens!) is also dark, but it is richer, more jewelled and the shimmer is more pronounced.  This was opaque in 2 coats and application gave me no problems even though it was a little bit thick.

FeiFei

FeiFei – this is described as a ‘magic blue foil sparkle metallic’.  I don’t know why it is called ‘magic’ but this is a very interesting polish.  I can see the foil quality but I also see a semi-jelly quality as well which may have accounted for the sheerness of FeiFei.  The base polish is light navy blue, and translucent.  I applied 2 coats and I could clearly see my nail beds underneath.  This would make it great for layering with a dark colour.  It also has multi-coloured and silver shimmer.  Very unique.

Daul

Daul – described as a ‘magic violet foil sparkle metallic’.  Another unique formula like FeiFei.  A reddish-violet jelly-like base with gold and violet shimmer (which makes it foil-like).   This one also was still sheer in 2 coats and would be great for layering.  It was also a little thick as well, but still fairly easy to apply.

Elisa

Elisa – a gorgeous, crimson red with fine, red microshimmer.  Just beautiful! While it is not the most unique colour, I think lots of women of different skintones and ethnicities will love this one! I had no problems applying this one and got full coverage in 2 coats.  A classic red!

Suri

Suri – this one is described as  royal purple metallic.  A sparkly, amethyst-coloured, rich, purple,  with purple fine microshimmer.  Another purple for me to love!!! Fully opaque in 2 coats.

Song

Song – An Egyptian blue metallic with a subtle sparkle.  This one is a stunner!!! What a gorgeous colour.  I don’t think I own a blue quite like this one.  This is truly a rich, royal deep blue.  Very shiny!  And the blue microshimmer just adds to the beauty of Song.  No problems with this colour.  I think this is the standout colour of the Diva collection.  I would actually wear this colour all year round.  It’s bright and intense.  Opaque in 2 coats.

Overall, this is a good collection.  I don’t think every colour is a must have.  I am very partial to and I love Elisa, Suri and Song, they are the best of the collection.  They are like semi-precious stones in nail polish form.  Ray is a nice colour but not unique and I am still a little undecided about the 2 ‘magic’ colours.  I like the idea that this collection plays with different types of metallic’s (regular vs. foil), but Fei Fei and Daul are going to take some time to get used to.
