I cannot contain myself!!! Its been a long summer waiting….and waiting…..and waiting!!!  So many questions!  My weekly obsession is back!

Kerry Washington has been making the rounds promoting Season 3 of Scandal and worked with makeup artist Brigitte Reiss-Anderson to create 2 looks.  One look, very fresh, natural and radiant and the other look a little more dramatic for night time.  All products used came from NARS Cosmetics.

“Whey de lime” Fridays….the final summer edition!

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

In about 2 days, fall begins.  While I’m not thrilled at that, I’m already anticipating next year!

I want to post my absolute favourite look of the season, part of my summer peach chronicles.

Featuring Freelove Eye Shadow from Urban Decay! Love!

An all peach/coral look!  It features most of the products that I had in heavy rotation for the past few months!

  • Freelove by Urban Decay on the center of the upper eyelid – a stunning, medium-deep peach, with smooth shimmer and velvety/buttery texture
  • Perversion 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils by Urban Decay on the waterline
  • Cha Cha Façade cheek colour by Face Atelier
  • Paris Follies Larger Than Life Lip Gloss from NARS Cosmetics

Transition into autumn with Senna Cosmetics!

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

The weather is already cold here and I am already thinking of all the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes that I will imbibe!  But just because makeup colours are getting darker does not mean that you have to abandon your summer shades.  I love incorporating bright, intense colours in my smokier looks.

This is Senna Cosmetics Summer Collection.

This collection is suited for fair/pale skintones,

While this works better with medium to darker skintones.

These were both really nice collections but there were a few standouts that I wore throughout the summer and I fully intend to continue to use.

The best makeup of NYFW S/S’14 by Dani Fonseca and Mehron

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

Now that New York Fashion Week is a wrap, I spent some time browsing a ton of looks done for the runway.  By far, one of my favourite looks continues to be Dani Fonseca’s creation for the Venexiana runway show.  I love the use of colour, the bold simplicity of the look, and how wearable it is!!  Dani does amazing work and she did not disappoint!

I was able to visit backstage to get details on the overall look.  Of course it was madness before the show, but everything just falls in place in time for the curtain raise!

So this look was all about bright, coloured liner on the top and bottom, out-to-there lashes, also on the top and bottom, flawless, natural skin with contouring and just bitten lips!

And here’s the look!

“I See Blue” for #NYFW……

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

Yes, ah seein’ blue!!!  Maybelline is the official makeup sponsor for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and they have brought out a limited edition coloured mascara collection.  All vibrants!! The deep blue one, caught my eye!!! They also have purple, green, teal and other colours but……the shade “I See Blue” was it!!

Maybelline Limited Edition “I See Blue” mascara

Again, don’t like the wand for the original but the pigmentation is wonderful! I love a coloured mascara to have a little fun with makeup and change up the look, but since I’m not wearing green lashes everyday, I don’t want to spend $30 for a high-end mascara.

The wand

I grabbed this up, as it seems to be the most popular of the colours.  They are available at drugstores, but when they are done, that’s it!  Check out my swatches below.
