Maybelline Falsies Flared! A review

Maybelline has been adding to their Falsies line every few months.  I tried both the original and the Black Drama versions. I held off on getting the Falsies, ‘cuz, what else could they do? Eventually, the complusive beauty buyer in me won out.  I passed Go and collected my mascara in Blackest Black.

According to Maybelline, Falsies Flared is supposed to give you thick voluminous, flared out lashes, with no clumping.  The volume is supposed to come from the the Pro-Keratin formula and the patented spoon-shaped mascara wand gives the shape or flare.

The Make Up For Ever Academy – NYC style!

A few weeks ago, I attended the Open House for the new Make Up For Ever Academy that will officially open in the heart of Union Square in NYC in January 2012.  It’s located at 853 Broadway.  So on a rainy autumn evening, I trekked over to see what’s up.

The original academy is located in Paris, France and was founded by Dany Sanz, the brainchild behind MUFE.  So for this NYC location, Floriane David is the Director of Education and the curriculum is based off of the French academy.  Applications are now being accepted for future semesters. This makeup program is internationally renowned for providing intense, in-depth training to turn up-and-coming artists into multi-faceted, full-fledged artistes.  There are 3 modules that cover various topics in make up artistry:

  • Beauty & Fashion
  • Film & TV
  • Artistic & Stage

Upcoming M.A.C. Collection – Metal X 2011

Another collection coming out on December 26, 2011.  It think this is the 3rd incarmation of this type of product.  Actually, the Metal X premiered in 2007, but a few years before, there was another version of the creamy eyeshadow that was not received very well.  I have eye shadows from both of those collections and the 2007 set was a definite improvement on the previous kind, but they still were not well received.  So, just a warning.  I may pass on these, I have to see what they look and feel like in the store first.

I hope  you all have had a wonderful Christmas!  We are living in some trying times, but I hope that you guys had a chance to celebrate with friends and family or at least have a little joy today.    Let us please remember the less fortunate  and as rough as I sometimes think that things are, I am grateful for what I have.

Anyway, I had an amazing time with the family and I even tried my hand at making pumpkin pie!!! (actually it was a joint effort between myself and my sister)
