[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

These were first referenced in the most recent NYFW.  These, based on the pictures, look very similar to the M.A.C. Extra Dimension finish.  I can’t wait to try these out!!

DOUBLE OR NOTHING

NARS Cosmetics introduces the new Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow. Double-down with the new dual-application formula – apply dry for a sheer, airbrush-like finish with a luminous sheen or apply with a dampened brush for high-impact and intense, opaque color. Twelve ready-to-wear and rebelliously romantic shades transform your look with a riveting range from delicate peach pink to fierce black orchid.

Using NARS’ specially designed wet/dry eyeshadow brush, the ultra-soft and luxurious shadow glides on smoothly and easily for precise application.

The Makeup Show NYC 2014 in pictures!

This year’s Makeup Show was epic! There were a lot of brand new companies, as well as more established companies launching their pro lines.  This time, I was most interested in the education part of the show.  There were some fantastic makeup artists in attendance giving of their knowledge and experiences.  There was a lot to learn but the one thing that I walked away with was,

“Don’t give up on yourself!” – Ashunta Sheriff

And this was the premiere of the “Icon Gallery”.  An exhibit celebrating the pioneers and icons of makeup artistry.  This year, Kevyn Aucoin was honoured.  He is one of my early personal favourites and was the best at that time!

Check out some of the amazing stuff!

Waterproof Modster eye pencils by Ardency Inn – the yellow one is brand new!

New Sephora PRO brushes – they have launched their PRO collection at stores!

I.CANNOT.WAIT! – A preview of the new Charlotte Tilbury collection which is debuting in the US in August!!!

The Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks! They look fantastic!!

#WCW: A Janelle Monae-inspired hair AND makeup LOTD!

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

I love when artists show us their raw talent and they are not hidden behind autotune or fancy costuming. I love it when there is some element of  the artist’s personality, that they are being themselves and that they are not a total creation of a label.

This is why I love Janelle Monae, from her signature pompadour, her black and white tuxedos and her earthy jazz/pop/funk vocals, yeah…you could say I have a girl crush!

I wanted to recreate her signature look, with a little twist!  Allyuh know that I am no hair expert, but I am stepping out of my malaise!

In honour of doing a look based on a musical artist, I am also going to use a few products created by Ardency Inn, a new brand, heavily influenced by music.  Check out my writeup on their launch here.

Here’s what I created!
