5 ways to effectively remove your makeup that you should know

There are tons of reviews and articles online about makeup application. What products to use, what brushes to buy, how to apply it. But what are you to do when you have come home, exhausted and need to take that makeup off? What do we use? Makeup removal should be your first step of your skincare routine. That leftover foundation will block or affect the efficacy of any serum, hydrator, antioxidant that you use. Nowadays, in the US, folks are using more and more long wearing, richly pigmented, heavy duty or waterproof makeup and sometimes your regular cleanser just doesn’t cut it. I like to get rid of that first layer of product so that my cleansers would be more effective and deep cleaning. So in this post, I will be discussing 4 different types of makeup removers. I even include an extra makeup removal tip! So that is really 5 ways to remove your makeup.

So this post and video will only cover removal methods for regular consumer makeup products. Special effects, theatrical and other alcohol/silicone based makeup are excluded.

Hey guys!!!!

Another installment of my series.  Today’s focus is on the cheeks.

I must admit that this is an area that I have only recently gotten into.  I’m all about the eyes but I have come to realize that the right cheek colour and application could take a look to another level!!!

Again, there are many different formulations for cheek colours and these include:

  • Powder (the most popular)
  • Gel
  • Creams (my new favourite!)
  • Liquids
  • Mousses

So there is something there for everyone, you just need to find something that suits you.

So you want to wear makeup…….The Basics

As the bounderies between professional makeup lines and regular consumer makeup lines continue to blur, there are tons of options available for the beginning makeup wearer, but where do you start??  It seems like everyone is jumping into the makeup game, providing a vast array of colours, textures and tools to play with.  Over the next few days, I’ll be giving my tips for very basic makeup, the-no-fuss, I’ve got 5 mins, but I want to look polished- look.

Makeup is all about experimentation, taking your time to figure out what you like and what works for you, looking at what other people use.  YouTube and beauty blogs are a modern woman’s best friend.  I spend countless hours roaming YouTube, learning new techniques, looking at product reviews and makeup tutorials.  More importantly, makeup should be fun! 🙂 Ah mean, what’s the point if it makes you miserable??  It should never be stressful or agonizing.  If you make a mistake…just wipe it off – and save that receipt.  Many beauty retailers allow you make returns within a certain timeframe.
