An ancient country….Turkey!!! A pictoral journey!

Hey!

It’s December already!! I love this month! We are knee deep into the holidays and everyone is going crazy shopping and prepping! And….it has gotten really cold here in NYC. L  And it gets dark by 4:30pm.  So this would be a great time to reminisce on warmer, brighter days.  Earlier this year, I took a trip with a few friends to Turkey.  It was incredible and amazing!! I luv’d it!  It’s the perfect mix of The Middle East and Europe.  The architecture, the food, the culture.  I’m definitely going to go back, soon!!!!  What happened to art in Italy during the Renaissance, it happened to architecture in Turkey during the Ottoman Empire.

So here are some of the gorgeous sights to Turkey.  I will be posting some other Turkey related beauty stuff , including a makeup look inspired by art!!

New product alert: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, all matte, all day!

The Naked Palette has a new sidekick!

Urban Decay has created an all matte palette meant to compliment the Naked and Naked2 palettes, the Naked Basics Palette.  Lots of people get excited over shimmery colours, but having a good cadre of versatile mattes are super important.  By incorporating multiple textures in your look, you could be doing makeup like a pro! I especially like using mattes in the crease as transition colours or to deepen a smoky eye without adding anymore shine.  Sometimes I just want a matte look to wear with matte lips.

Good Cyber Monday to you!!

Did any of you guys brave the long lines for Black Friday??  I watched the madness on TV!! I just think that shopping is an online phenom now.  I just couldn’t tear myself away from the couch!! LOL!

I recently reviewed and recommended the Black Dahlia Lip Tar from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  So for all of you who bought it, here’s a LOTD to show the versatility of this oxblood lip colour!

OCC Black Dahlia with M.A.C. Nightmoth Lip Pencil

So I used a dark wine lip pencil, Nightmoth from M.A.C., and lined my lips.  I then used a lip brush and applied a DROP of Black Dahlia on my lips.  I actually a used a few layers to get the deepest colour.  It dried to a shiny finish that was mostly opaque and not sticky.

This very bold and deep! Love it!  I paired it with a neutral eye shadow, winged liner and a light application of plum blush.
