London Fashion Week collaborators since 2012, Christopher Kane and NARS share a passion for vivid colors amplified by unconventional creativity. For Summer 2015, NARS introduces The Christopher Kane for NARS Collection – NEONEUTRAL, a limited edition collection of unexpected shades and formulas inspired by the nature of neon and the nude shades that complement them.

The collection, which showcases Christopher Kane’s unexpected and edgy design aesthetic with NARS’ iconic and bold beauty philosophy, is the first fashion collaboration to feature a full line of Eyeshadows, Blushes, Illuminating Multiples, and Lip Glosses. Eyes are enhanced with iridescent rose gold, pink lilac, and violet. Cheeks are flushed with soft beige or hot pink. And lips are saturated in high-shine shades of neon pink and coral that subtly stain after the gloss is gone.

As NARS first fashion collaboration to feature a full color collection with products for the eyes, lip and cheeks, this gorgeous limited edition collection combines NARS’ iconic and bold beauty philosophy with Christopher Kane’s signature color palette and design aesthetic. The 10 item collection also includes a new blush formula and illuminating multiple formula from Christopher Kane’s SS15 runway show (Violet Atom).

Lip of the day: MAC Cosmetics Toledo Collection in Victoriana

Love this lip! It’s my first bright lip of spring! I’m so glad that winter is over, although it is trying its best to stick around long past its welcome!

I picked this up recently and it is part of the Isabel and Ruben Toledo collaboration with M.A.C. Don’t forget that Isabel Toledo made the green embroidered Inaugural dress suit that First Lady Michelle Obama wore in 2009. This is a full, artsy collection that includes eye shadow palettes, lipsticks, nails, makeup bag and coloured mascara.  I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, so I picked up just one lipstick.

Oh, how are you all going?

I am still recovering from Carnival. I got the opportunity to go home this year to experience Carnival. And I had a blast! It was great to step out of my normal routine and reacquaint myself with the splendor of Carnival!

I also did a few makeup looks for mas on Carnival Tuesday! It was fun working on a different style of makeup. Primarily, I used the Mehron Precious Gems Powder mixed with M.A.C. water-based Mixing Medium on the lids as the colour, Mehron Ad Gem as the glue to adhere the gemstones and OCC Lip Tar on the lips.

I am a huge fan of Ava and was so thrilled to see her at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards show. She was by far one of my best dressed that night……everything was working, the navy dress, the makeup and the locs in an updo!

Speaking of makeup, I was thrilled to see that her makeup was done by international makeup artist Uzo and NARS cosmetics. She looked gorgeous!

Here’s a breakdown of the look and an inspiration:

The Inspiration

“The look was about a woman in a position of power. Ava’s statement-making makeup was kept soft and ethereal to balance her bold hairstyle and architectural Zac Posen gown. I created a velvety, smoky chocolate eye and soft neutral shades for her cheeks and lips.”

Her hairstyle was done by celebrity natural hairstylist Felicia Leatherwood and I loved this! Basically, if I had locs, I would want them to look like hers!
