Image courtesty of Bee Mine
This is one of the products that I have heard a lot of buzzz about from curly heads for years. Bee Hold Curly Butter is made by the company Bee Mine and it is probably their best selling product. Always the first to sell out and I had to make sure I snapped it up. I bought mine from Ecodermis & Wolfberry in Brooklyn (right off Eastern Parkway) and I got the last one!!
Curly Butter is an all-natural product used to add moisturizing ingredients and is primarily made up of shea butter and aloe vera. It also contains vegetable glycerine, which also helps to attract moisture to the hair, rosemary leaf, chamomile extract and silk powders. I bought mine in the unscented version, but it also comes in Coconut Cream and Island Mango. It has the consistency of a light cream and not a butter as its name would suggest. So right off the bat, it is not a thick/dense product. I prefer a heavier product for the colder months, but for the summer, this has a great texture. I applied this on my hair after using my Kinky Curly Knot Today and sealed with Oyin’s Burnt Sugar Pomade. The Curly Butter keeps my hair moisturized and soft and there is minimal hold. Even after a week of wearing twists, it’s still soft and there is no flaking. A good choice for naturals and relaxed ladies!
Overall, this is a really good product. My one complaint, is that sometimes it leaves a very weird, slick feeling to my hands. Not sure why that happens. Worth a try for the summer, but I’m going to stick with my Oyin stuff for the winter!! Bee Mine Products are available at the company website, or Curlmart. The 80z. retails for $13.97.
