So I took a trip to the M.A.C. store in West Mall and saw that they just got the Spring Colour Forecast collection. Why was EVERYTHING sold out??? Boo…..
Also noticed that they got the new limited edition Viva Glam lipsticks in Cyndi & Gaga. Both colours are surprisingly sheer especially the Cyndi.
VG Gaga (l), VG Cyndi (r)
Cyndi is a sheer red with a hint of coral. I think this is very wearable for women of colour. It’s a good starter red, for those who are afraid of bold reds but want to ease into wearing red lips. You could wear this red with a smokey eye or layer it to make your lips the focal point. I really like this colour and I am going to have to get it!!!!!!
Gaga is the colour that folks were buzzing about!! This is also sheer but it is a little more opaque than Cyndi and its a true bubble gum pink. On me it looks a little ashy (for reference, I am NW45), but could be worn with a darker lipliner like Nightnoth or Current. I think a little more work would need to be done to make it work, for women with darker skin tones.
All in all, they are both good colours and besides, 100% of the proceeds goes towards the M.A.C. Aids Fund.
M.A.C. has just released Trip, a collection that they brought out last year that was exclusive to duty-free shops. It’s now available online and in stores and it contains some permanent and previously limited-edition colours. It’s all eye, cheek and lip compacts with two brush sets. One of the compacts has Waternymph, which is a gorgeous colour that came out with the Lure collection.
As per the M.A.C. website:
A collection of black-and-white graphic compacts, trios and glossy patent bags with sleek, sharp stripes is the simple, sophisticated way to expedite effortless eyes, long-lasting lips, and cheeks. Around-the-world chic is now so stylishly state-of-the-art, it’s trippy!
Yeah, it’s spring and I’m excited!!!! I love warm weather!
So M.A.C. continues to spring forward with their summer collections and next up is Pret a Papier and the colour of the season, coral, appears again. This collection looks like a less intense version of the To The Beach collection, a good transition from spring to summer.
Craft Paper Couture – an inspired idea cut like a pattern and whipped up into a frisky little “funny face” frock. Then, strip it back to its essence for Summer 2010 for a Pret-a-Papier colour collection. It was a Project Runway challenge of sorts, with paper as the source, the instigator of ideas, the beginning of something simply, basically beautiful. Lipstick, LipGlass, Eye Shadow, Paint Pot, Chromografic Pencil, Studio Fix Lash, Impeccable Brow Pencil, Sheertone and Mineralize Blushes, and Nail Lacquer in a seamless spectrum of parchment-to-vellum beiges, with an occasional, clever colour spill, coral among the most au courant

So M.A.C. is coming fast and furious with their collections. Seriously, they bring out a collection at least once every two weeks!!! Bad for the wallet, but ah still lovin’ it!!! The next collections are right up my alley, bold vibrant colours, great for spring, summer and de blazin’ heat in Trinbago!!!!!!
Art Supplies
I mentioned in one of my previous posts, that the M.A.C. greasepaints were one of the BESS products for 2009!!! This is what the shadesticks were supposed to be…super creamy, highly pigmented, and great as a base or used alone as shadow. So M.A.C. brings back the GPS in a variety of colours. Love the packaging, love the colours even more! OMG, I am super excited!!!!!!!!!! But get them fast, they’ll be around for a limited time. I sincerely hope that M.A.C. eventually makes them permanent, just like they did for the Dazzleglasses (which were super popular). Especially since they have discontinued a lot of the shadesticks.

So apparently this is the winter of the decade, snow fuh so!!!!
So here is one last look for all you snow-bound folks, a little taste of sunshine!!!
I did my sister’s makeup for Carnival Tuesday, when everyone wears their full costumes. She played with Spice in the ‘Greece’ section, which was a vibrant purple and they looked really good on de road, crossing de stage. They had slightly large headpiecees and the frontline had a lot of encrusted rhinestones which glowed in the sun.
I used:
M.A.C. eyeshadow in Beautiful Iris (inner lid)
A mix of M.A.C. MES in Odd Couple (purple side) & NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Jolie Poupee (shimmer side) (middle lid)
Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in # 92 (outer lid)
M.A.C. eyeshadow in Cork (crease and browbone)
M.A.C. eyeshadow in Satelite Dreams (lower lid)
M.A.C. Fluidline in Blacktrack
M.A.C. Dual Edge Eye Pencil in Fab Orchid (lower lashine)/Dash Lily (flares)
