Ok, this mini collection kinda has the same hype that Hello Kitty had last year. People are super psyched about this limited release!!! It’s going to be one of the coolest Viva Glam campaigns (I still think that the coolest one was the RuPaul/KD Lang campaign for the original release of VG I back in 1994). The From Our Lips collection is now available on the M.A.C. website which probably means that it’s going to the released is stores on Thursday 11th February Wednesday 10th February.
I think it’s time that I get my first Viva Glam lipstick and I am sooooo looking at VG Cyndi, which is described as ‘a light reddish coral’ and it’s in a lustre finish so its sheerish and super creamy!!!!!!!!!!! The packaging alone has me sold!!! Deep metallic red on black with the black signatures. These are going to be collector’s items for sure!!!!
Check out the face charts!!! I love the Cyndi look!
I’m here with another look for Carnival 2010. This time I chose yellow as a theme and again went back to Tribe for my yellow selection of choice. Xi Ling Shi is Tribe’s offering and according to the website, Xi Ling Shi ‘was a legendary Chinese empress and the wife of the Yellow Emperor who discovered silk and invented the silk loom thousands of years ago’. Again, gorgeous costume!!

Island People Mas also has an offering in yellow from their 2010 presentation, Kutchela. Theirs is called Mudra, which ‘speaks of the importance of non-verbal communication among people’. Island People’s explanation continues, ‘ With its clinical meaning given as hand gestures, it is the essence of what is captured and related through use of the limbs that is in its profoundest meaning- that of the story of life’.

So I’m kinda mad that I’m missing M.A.C.’s Spring Colour Forecast launch party that’s happening tonight (I think!!) all across the U.S. This is a MASSIVE collection, falling on the anniversary of the Hello Kitty collection (I cyah believe that it has been a year since HK launched!). It’s broken up into 4 colours – Pink, Coral, Plum & Amber. I have not seen these products live but there must be something for everyone!!! It runs the gammet from pastels to brights, mattes to frosts, and safe to daring! I have my eye on just a few of the products from the Spring Colour Forecast 1 – the Pink collection, namely Pink Burst and Laugh A Lot lipsticks. There are even a few new products like the Crushed Metal Pigments – stacks of pigments with a metallic shine and the Ombre Blushes. Temptalia.com has some great swatches and an extensive review.
The collection is now available online, and available in stores on Feb. 11th in the US.
I also heard that they are moving up the launch date of the new Viva Glam lipsticks featuring Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga!!! I hear its coming also on the 11th, but we’ll see. Cyndi’s colour looks interesting!!!
What products from the Spring Colour Forecast should I get????

….Forever!!!!!
Back in the day, I was attracted to M.A.C. for a number of reasons. For one, it was the first department store brand that I discovered that offered an always expansive colour scheme that really allowed me to think outside of the box and experiment. They also did not pigeon-hole consumers into thinking that they could only where a certain colour or a certain product. They were all-welcoming, which I absolutely loved! It did not matter who you were, male, female, black, white, Asian, Latina, young or older! Their mantra of All Ages, All Races, All Sexes is the theme for one of their newest collections, that is very neutral themed and very wearable by everyone. Here are some of what the M.A.C. artists had to say about theme and the collection. All Ages, All Races, All Sexes is available online and in stores now.
JOHN S. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
M∙A∙C is its own melting pot. It’s like riding the New York City subway: Walk into any store, at anytime, and you will experience All Ages, All Races, All Sexes. And maybe even a saxophone player on roller-skates – you never know!
FRED V. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
This credo lured me in immediately, given the fact that I’m a Latin, Spanish-speaking, black gay male! I feel that if there is a niche here for me, then there is a place at M∙A∙C for everyone.
GREGORY A. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
I love the all-encompassing “world clique” that we have created. M·A·C lays out a welcome mat to the world! Beauty is ageless, genderless, and has no ethnic boundaries. Our credo appeals to me on EVERY level, as I love beauty that comes in all packages.
FATIMA T. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
Our credo says, “Come one, come all. Everyone is welcome.” When you work in this business for any length of time it becomes apparent that regardless of skin colour, age or culture, we all want the same thing: to look and feel our best. I aim to make everyone I touch look and feel better.
LYNE D. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
This collection is really in line with what M∙A∙C does best: The art of makeup for everyone! All Ages, All Races, All Sexes is a celebration of skin tones: Everyone will be able to find the right neutrals for them, whether it is for their lips, eyes or even their eyebrows!
TIFFANY J.ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
We’re all in this life together, trying to express ourselves the best way we know how. The greatest part about M∙A∙C is we all have a common thread – the love of makeup and the endless possibilities for who we are while playing with it!
KERI B. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
M∙A∙C is such a special community because we celebrate difference. Embracing All Ages, All Races, All Sexes allows us as a brand to break down the typical concept of beauty.
NADINE L. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
This credo changed the face of make up as I knew it! It was a maverick approach to makeup as art, and I was finally able to find a cosmetic line that did not exclude me. I could actually shop at the same cosmetic location as my mother, grandmother, little sister, big brother and girlfriends!
CAITLIN C. ON ALL AGES, ALL RACES, ALL SEXES
Whether it was at school, going out or going into certain stores, I remember sometimes feeling left out or just not cool enough. But when I joined the M∙A∙C family, I found where I belonged. M∙A∙C is all-inclusive fashion. No one gets left out of this club: no guest list, no bouncers, it doesn’t matter who you know. We are All Ages, All Races, All Sexes.
So I’m all about eye makeup…. like, ALL ABOUT eye makeup!!!! I decided that one of the things that I would like to do is to expand my lipstick range for 2010. Therefore, I’m on the lookout for the perfect red lip. Or at least something that is close to perfect! 🙂 I currently have only a few true reds and that’s M.A.C.’s Venetian Lipglass, Cult of Cherry Lipglass and 3D Lipglass in Algorithm which are all great but they are all lipglasses. So I’ll be checking out M.A.C., MUFE, NARS and any other brand that catches my eye. I’m NW 45 in M.A.C. so this should be interesting……So I’m off to my adventure!!
