Happy Labour Day to those in the U.S.! Sadly, summer is rapidly coming to an end. It is already getting cool at night here in NYC. Le sigh….
Here’s a quick LOTD that I wore this weekend, matte grey with a pop of shimmery, royal sea blue.

So last year M.A.C. held a competition to give 6 fanatics a chance at a makeover and to the the faces of one of their fall campaigns. I entered. I didn’t win
But here is the collection. I’m glad M.A.C. chose 6 very different people, including a dude! And the lady with the silvery hair, fierce!!!!!

Hey, it’s Friday!!!!!!
I felt like doing something a little sultry using M.A.C.’s Dark Indulgence MES and here is what I came up with!
Having spent years in the shadow of the gooey lipgloss, lipsticks have roared back to the forefront and matte lipsticks have been at the centre of the trend! This year, bright, bold matte lips were all over the runway and in every magazine and the trend continues into the autumn/winter. Years ago, dark, vampy, matte lips were routine but they got a bad reputation because they were often very drying, accentuated any cracks in your lips and generally not comfortable. Fast forward to now and the formulas have been revamped. Conditioners have been added to these densely pigmented lip products to make them a lot more wearable.
NYX just recently launched a new line of matte lipsticks in 22 colours. I ordered 2 of them to start wih from beautyjoint.com and I paid $4.99 each.
Typically, M.A.C. brings out a couple of large collections during the summer and one of them usually includes a mineralized collection. For the newbies, mineralized makeup usually contains natural minerals in a powdered form and may be baked into a solid form. It is touted as being better for the skin and there are less additives and binders that hold the particles together. These products can be used both dry and wet which is different from typical pressed powder products.
Here is some information about M.A.C.’s newly released Semi Precious collection. It is available from July 7 in the US and Canada at M.A.C. stores, counters and online. Available internationally later on in July.

What an amazing honour!!! To have one of the most popular makeup brands worldwide to ask you to create a colour! This opportunity was bestowed on 9 of the internet’s best known beauty bloggers. The Bloggers’ Obsessions collection is available online only and only available to U.S. and Canadian customers for a limited time of 6 weeks starting from June 21. So once the end of July comes, that’s it!!

Here is a bright look for the summer! I used one of the most popular colours for the season, coral, but made it wearable for everyone with a light application. Of course, you can intensify the look by adding a bright liner on the lower lashline, like green, gold or turquoise.
Bright, summer look!
Here’s my mini haul! As per usual, M.A.C. brings out a summer collection that I love. Large collection, with many components, so there is something for everyone. Very bronze and very bright.
Anyway, did not get much, just some must-haves for me! Still thinking about some the lipsticks and the stick bronzers (although they remind me of the NARS multiples).
