LOTD: Jordin Sparks for bebe inspired

So the movie Sparkle debuted in the US a few weeks ago and it stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.  I never really watched the show, but I think she has a good voice and lately she has been everywhere with her new svelte, healthy body!  This is also the last movie done by one of the greatest voices of our time, Ms. Whitney Houston! I still in ah lil shock!

Anyway, so I saw this poster where Jordin Sparks appeared in an ad campaign for the clothing store bebe as a promo for Sparkle.

It was glamorous, without being over the top.  It was actually similar to a look that I did on Jannelle here, but with updated technique.  This would be a good Labour Day/Carnival look,  and it’s actually really simple.  A gold glitter.  And I used a new method of applying lashes that I picked up at The Makeup Show from artist Johnny LaVoy!  I even included a foundation (!), which I never wear, but I was intrigued when I purchased  it at the Mehron booth at IMATS NYC earlier this year.

Here’s the look!

Summer, summertime!!!

I’m in the summer mood!!

I’m so excited! Just a few days away from the official start of summer! And these new polishes from Zoya are completely on trend!  This has been the year of brights when it comes to fashion and beauty and Zoya brought out a 12-piece collection, a mix of texture and colour.

I’ll review the first half of the collection here, Beach.

Laura Mercier Très Chic collection c’est chic!

Bonjour! Ça va?

This is my first review of Laura Mercier products.   I was instantly attracted to the beautiful, bold, punchy colours.  The Très Chic collection is a limited edition, spring nail collection consisting of 5 colours that range from pastel to bright.

I picked up the two that I thought were going to be my favourites and I love them!!   The polishes are contained in short, square bottles and are slightly smaller than the typical nail polish – 0.35 fl. oz. (10.35 ml) vs. 0.5 fl. oz. (15 ml) and they cost US$18 each.   So the price is a little costly.  The brush is short, and not like the Pro-Wides that you get with OPI.  For those with long nail beds, you may have to use more strokes than you normally would.  The formula is a little on the thin side, but smooth.  I used 2 coats in the swatches, but I could have done with an additional one.  Drying time is pretty fast.  The formula is good, and standard for what is out there.  They are also Big 3 free.

Onto the swatches!

The first one I picked up is Cabana.
