Another year has come and soon to be gone and it’s time to recap!
This has been somewhat of an up and down year but here are the products that got two thumbs up and that I rocked any chance that I got!!!
In no particular order:
Urban Decay Naked Palette: Review on this really soon, but this was well worth all the hype. 12 gorgeous neutral shades that work well for day and night. I totally see why people went completely crazy for this one!! Love it!!
The summer went by super fast!! I cyah believe that’s it’s almost over ! 🙁
I went to a fabulous rooftop barbeque this weekend and decided to end the summer as I began….with Firecracker eyeshadow, one of the gems from the On The Beach collection from M.A.C. I also made use of my new favourite product, SuperSlick Liquid Eye Liner in On the Hunt. Here’s how it came out:
Saw this look done by Erin over @Makeup Fiend. I love this look and I have not done it in a long time!!! So I worked it out!!! Of course, it’s a great summer look, since it features golds and bronzes. This look is an easy way to use pink, which some people find hard to use sometimes. Also works well with other brights – corals, teals etc. Not too bright, used the 224 brush so that it’s a wash of colour.
The Ingredients

MUFE # 56 Powder Blush (used as an eye shadow, a bright, dark fuschia matte colour, outer eyelid and outer crease, blended softly)
M.A.C. # 224 brush
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Shimmer Gel Liner in Black Mauve (brownish, mauve-ish black liner, on the upper and lower lashline)
Givenchy Magic Kajal in Black (shiny black liner, applied to the lower waterline, minimal smudging)
So last week I had the pleasure of attending a Bobbi Brown Master Class at Bergdorf Goodman. I took it as an opportunity to get to know the brand a little better and to potentially learn some new techniques. The class was small (about 25 people) and was lead by Ricky, who is one of Bobbi Brown’s national makeup artists.
So, I have not been a fan of Bobbi Brown. I just thought that their makeup was too…plain, I was used to the bold offerings of M.A.C. I even went to get a makeover done at the Bobbi Brown counter at Saks and left feeling, well you know…plain!!! For me the colour offerings were too limited and it was too much work to look like I was wearing nothing at all.
But over the years I think that they have refined their look a little and I even bought Bobbi’s latest book, which is really good especially because it gives an insight into becoming a makeup artist. So it went beyond basic beauty.
For Spring 2010, Bobbi brings Cabana Corals, a very beachy, summery collection.

And I’m allllll about summer! I am not a coral girl but I think that this is the first collection that I am interested in. It looks bright for BB and the shimmer bricks are #1 on my list. I’ve heard a lot about the shimmer bricks and I think I want to try. Has anyone tried this collection????
