Hey! So I was very excited for a collection of Paint Pots and Mattene lipsticks, as I love both. I really wish that they would expand the permanent Paint Pot line and keep the Mattenes as well.
Anyway, I listed all the items from the collection here. This has been a very popular collection and it’s still available in stores and online. Here is what I got:
I was introduced to Ruby Kisses when I attended the Blogger Preview for The Makeup Show earlier this year. This is a fairly new brand that is sold in beauty supply stores and is an inexpensive brand. I received a few of their products and I have been testing them out ever since.
The first product that I was eager to try out was their Big Lash Mascara.
This collection came out in North America on September 29 and will appear internationally in October (although it is out in some international locations). This is a massive collection with a lot of items that are already in the permanent collection or have be released previously. I love new items but it’s great getting new ideas for old items. Some items are permanent at the PRO store, but you don’t have to have to be a M.A.C. PRO to order. You can visit to PRO Store or call their 800 number.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has finally opened a retail location in NYC. For all you Lip Tar fans, you can now find OCC on the Lower East Side at 174 Ludlow Street, between Houston & Stanton.
Inside!
Here is some more information on the new Flagship:
“OCC chose the Lower East Side because it has really become the true hub of all things creative and artistic coming out of New York. The neighborhood’s latest renaissance is producing cutting edge design fashion, designers, salons and art galleries, and that’s where OCC needs to be.” David Klasfeld, CEO/Creative Director, OCC
Walking into the flagship store you will see an array of makeup in bold and dramatic colours with pops of neon and saturated pastels, radiating from every corner. Professional Makeup Artists are standing by to offer private consultations, makeup applications, and will even show you how to perfect airbrush makeup. Customers will not want to miss OCC’s Mixing Bar where they can custom create their perfect shade, or recreate their favorite colour. Gone are the days anyone has to live without their favorite discontinued beauty product! With over 36 shades of Lip Tars, highly pigmented loose eyeshadows, and an array of vibrant nail polishes, OCC’s flagship store is sure to become the next beauty haven for any makeup artist or beauty buff.
I attended the Grand Opening last week and we were also introduced to the new Fall 2011 collection, Pretty Boy, which by the way is amazing! I especially love the nail lacquers!! Actually very girly but not too sweet!
One of the hardest things to do is to find the perfect red. A lot of women of colour avoid the most coveted lip colour of all time. Red is the colour of the season and sultry glamour is back! Various textures and finishes, it doesn’t matter. Red is it!!! Truth be told, I had to make a conscious decision to start buying reds. It is really a matter of trial and error to find reds that work with your skintone and personality and the engineer in me loves this!!!
So here are some the reds that I have collected recently. And for the record, I don’t know where I have been but M.A.C.’s Ruby Woo bessssssss!!!!! I don’t know what they sprinkle on that lipstick, and it’s a matte too!! It is a gorgeous, stunning true red and the finish/texture of the lipstick also makes it unique! No one looks bad in this one. I think this is as close to a sure bet as you can get! If you would like more detailed swatches/info on a particular colour, let me know. I will be doing a review on the NARS items. Check out my review on the NYX Lip Cremes here. I’m NW45 with red undertones but my arm is a little lighter.
