New product alert: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, all matte, all day!

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

The Naked Palette has a new sidekick!

Urban Decay has created an all matte palette meant to compliment the Naked and Naked2 palettes, the Naked Basics Palette.  Lots of people get excited over shimmery colours, but having a good cadre of versatile mattes are super important.  By incorporating multiple textures in your look, you could be doing makeup like a pro! I especially like using mattes in the crease as transition colours or to deepen a smoky eye without adding anymore shine.  Sometimes I just want a matte look to wear with matte lips.

Laura Mercier Très Chic collection c’est chic!

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

Bonjour! Ça va?

This is my first review of Laura Mercier products.   I was instantly attracted to the beautiful, bold, punchy colours.  The Très Chic collection is a limited edition, spring nail collection consisting of 5 colours that range from pastel to bright.

I picked up the two that I thought were going to be my favourites and I love them!!   The polishes are contained in short, square bottles and are slightly smaller than the typical nail polish – 0.35 fl. oz. (10.35 ml) vs. 0.5 fl. oz. (15 ml) and they cost US$18 each.   So the price is a little costly.  The brush is short, and not like the Pro-Wides that you get with OPI.  For those with long nail beds, you may have to use more strokes than you normally would.  The formula is a little on the thin side, but smooth.  I used 2 coats in the swatches, but I could have done with an additional one.  Drying time is pretty fast.  The formula is good, and standard for what is out there.  They are also Big 3 free.

Onto the swatches!

The first one I picked up is Cabana.

One post…two reviews!

So, I’m going to review the Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes and the Lancôme Doll Lashes.  I decided to review these two as they both had similar, unique brushes and I wanted to see if one could be used as a dupe for the other.

First the individual reviews.

In the red corner…Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes (LOL)!!!

Shades of copper and gold from Inglot

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

Inglot has just launched a new collection featuring shades of copper, ginger and gold.  This comes just in time for the holidays and I definitely need to check this out in person!!! This is perfect for fall and holiday parties.  Even those in milder climates would find this collection appealing. It kinda reminds me of the sunset.  The colours are warm and would work well with olive, tan and darker skintones.  This would also give a great smokey eye without the heaviness of black.  Paler skintones could find this as a good alternative to redder colours.

Matte Eye Shadow review: Inglot Cosmetics

[twitter-follow screen_name=’NoireTropicalB’]

Hey guys!

So I recently started purchasing products from Inglot Cosmetics.  They are a Polish brand with tons of eye shadows, lipsticks, liner, everything.  Their colour palette is amazing and what really drew me in was their Freedom System.  The majority of their products come in pans so you could customize whatever palette you want. You can mix eye shadows of different textures, colour families or you can even create a palette with eye shadows, lipsticks and blushes.  Their palettes come in various sizes including a 40-pan palette.

I purchased 3 matte eye shadows from their Freedom System as I am interested in playing with different textures.  I am a sparkle girl, and I have very few mattes in my collection.

The first is Freedom System Matte Eye Shadow # 339
