M.A.C. continues to churn out collections!!!

On March 4th, they bring out a collection that is all lips and cheeks!!!! Too Fabulous Colour Collection reminds me of last year’s Sugar Sweet collection, with its candy theme.

As per M.A.C.:

Introducing six new très jolie shades and three bring-back essentials, because the world wants more of this creamy, high-flying gloss formula that provides sheer, Just Superb colour with a touch of sex-o-shine!

To accentuate them, a combination of six Lip Pencils ranging from neutral to pinks and browns, to delight and define. And here’s a lovely thought: six new Mineralize Blush Duos are also making a limited appearance. Inspired by the original, they provide a gossamer sheer and lightweight application…all Too Fabulous.

Too Fabulous, mineralize blushes

There is a reappearance of Creamsheen Glass, which is a lip gloss that I love because of the texture.  And gladly, they are permanent.

New Kid on the Block: M.A.C.'s Mineralize Foundation SPF 15

This is M.A.C.’s newest offering in terms of foundations.  It’s supposed to be a creamy, lighter-in-texture version of Studio Tech, but with a gel-like finish (similar to MUFE Face and Body Liquid Makeup or M.A.C.’s Studio Sculpt/Satinfinish).  It sounds like it would work great for people with dry skin.

As per Speckta:

“mineralize foundation spf 15 is a hydrating, solid cream compact foundation. it delivers medium buildable coverage with a natural, luminous finish. it helps skin fell hyrated immediately. this formula provides up to 8 hours of long wear. it helps to moisturize the skin, provide luminosity to the skin and reduce the appearance of pores. a skin conditioning agent helps revitalize the skin and creates a smoother-looking complexion. it contains light diffusing iptics that help minimize the visibility of pores, fine lines and wrinkles for a flawless-looking complexion. it contains 2 mineralize complexes. the mineral ferment complex has been bio-fermented into a mineral rich yeast extract that provides 77 bio-available minerals that help to nourish the skin. multi-mineral complex is a water-based solution of potassium, magnesium, sodium and zinc which play a role in skin nutrition. the innovative gel-based formula feels extremely comfortable and silky on the skin. the foundation is easy to blend, providing even coverage while maintaining colour purity. this convenient compact foundation provides spf 15, UVB protection and is suitable for all skin types especially for normal to dry. it is non-acnegenic and dermatologist-tested.”

M.A.C. Collection: Riveting Colour Collection…Available now!

M.A.C. Riveting, US Release Date: Feb 18th, 2010

This collection is available from today, online and at counters nationwide in the US.

A considerably smaller collection than the Spring Colour Forecast that pays homage to Rock Goddesses for their strength and power.

“Glossy images of leggy, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall -of-Fame uber-models are as riveting, ravishing – and relevant – as ever. Hot shots of super-babes and rock chicks, edgy but never grungy, the lion’s mane of hair, the spectacular cheek bones, the luscious lashes, and a certain fearlessness when it comes to conquering with colour – Riveting is a rock-steady metal collection that pays homage to the Jerry Halls and Pat Clevelands of the world, their strength and their power! Part of a sexy ’80s fashion moment, these girls are modern versions of the real thing: Rock Goddesses never afraid to strut their stuff and step up to the spotlight. A fashion trend, true, but oh-so-much more is what makes these girls Riveting.”

Lipstick

  • Metal Maven – Pale frosted silver (frost)
  • Bubbles – Sheer pale whit pink ice (glaze) (Repromote)
  • Riveting – Mid-tone dirty mauve taupe (glaze) <—maybe??
  • Show Orchid – Vivid hot pink (amplified) (PRO)

Lipglass

  • Rock out – Light icy silver with pearl (frost)
  • True babe – Creamy mid-tone bright blue pink (cream)

Penultimate eyeliner

  • Rapidblack – True black (Repromote)

Powder Blush

  • Full Fuchsia – Very bright iridescent fuchsia (PRO)
  • Dirty Plum – Deep Plum (PRO)

Nail Lacquer

  • Studded – Matte true silver with pearl (matte)
  • Wham, bam, glam – Matte cool dark taupe (matte)
  • Black enough? – Matte black (matte)

Brush

  • 188 small duo fibre

Lashes

  • #48 (MAC store permanent)

This does not appear to be a ‘must’ collection for me.  Some of the items are permanent like the liner and the lashes.  Some items are M.A.C. PRO items (the blushes and Show Orchid lipstick) and the rest of the items don’t really excite me.

I am waiting ’til the Give Me Liberty collection to get Dirty Plum in the special packaging and I think M.A.C. waited too long to come out with some matte nail polishes and the colours are not unique.  I may look at the Studded polish and Riveting lipstick.

But that’s alright, b/c Give Me Liberty (with special packaging) and Art Supplies (all limited edition greasepaint sticks!! OMG!!!) are both coming out within the next month.  I have not bought any M.A.C. in months, but that’s about to change with those collections and the summer collections that I have already spoken about.  It’s all about prioritizing!!!!!

It's Carnival Time again!!! Las' Lap!!!

Hi guys!

This is my last installment of my Carnival looks, inspired by the presentations for 2010!  Today is Fantastic Friday in Trinidad and Tobago and de place is hot like fire!!! Tonight is the Soca and the Groovy Soca Monarch Finals as well as Blue Range Cooler Fete, so there’s lots to do!!!

Back to the looks….

I decided for my final look, to use teals/blues/greens which are very popular colours for Carnival costumes and look amazing under the Caribbean sun!

My main inspiration came from Tribe’s section called Zari, which ‘is a type of thread made of precious fine wire and it is the main material used in making saris and ghararas’.

Zari Frontline Headpiece detail

Gorge!!!!!!!! I certainly won’t be able to wear that bikini but its still amazing anyway!!!
