Upcoming collection: M.A.C. In The Groove

So In The Groove is one of the collections coming out in July in the US.  It features a bunch of mineralized products which are popular for at least one summer collection.  I am definitely interested although M.A.C. can be hit or miss with the formulations, especially for the MES (sometime they come out super smooth like the first set, but others are quite grainy like last year’s).

Collection arrives July 8th in the U.S. and in August internationally

LOTD: A Pink Summer Look

Hey,  just a quick LOTD.

Saw this look done by Erin over @Makeup Fiend.  I love this look and I have not done it in a long time!!! So I worked it out!!!  Of course, it’s a great summer look, since it features golds and bronzes.  This look is an easy way to use pink, which some people find hard to use sometimes.  Also works well with other brights –  corals, teals etc. Not too bright, used the 224 brush so that it’s a wash of colour.

The Ingredients

  • TFSI
  • M.A.C. Material Gold Cream Eye Shadow (a shimmery pinkish champagne, applied to inner third of eyelid, with 224 brush)
  • M.A.C. Cocomotion Pigment (a midtone golden beige, on the center of eyelid with 224 brush)
  • MUFE # 56 Powder Blush (used as an eye shadow, a bright, dark fuschia matte colour, outer eyelid and outer crease, blended softly)
  • M.A.C. # 224 brush
  • Bobbi Brown Long Wear Shimmer Gel Liner in Black Mauve (brownish, mauve-ish black liner, on the upper and lower lashline)
  • Givenchy Magic Kajal in Black (shiny black liner, applied to the lower waterline, minimal smudging)
  • Maybelline Lash Stiletto in Very Black
  • Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral
  • Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar

So you want to wear makeup: Cheeks

Hey guys!!!!

Another installment of my series.  Today’s focus is on the cheeks.

I must admit that this is an area that I have only recently gotten into.  I’m all about the eyes but I have come to realize that the right cheek colour and application could take a look to another level!!!

Again, there are many different formulations for cheek colours and these include:

  • Powder (the most popular)
  • Gel
  • Creams (my new favourite!)
  • Liquids
  • Mousses

So there is something there for everyone, you just need to find something that suits you.

There are a few things to take into consideration when selecting your cheek colour and formula:

LOTD: A bronzey, coral look!!

Hey!!

So in celebration of the amazing warm weather we’ve been having, I decided to make use of one of my favourite colours of the season, coral.  Honestly, I don’t know why it took me so long to discover this colour.  I think it had something to do with a wedding that I was in as a child, and had to wear the MOST hideous peach bridesmaid dress ever…..and the makeup was just wrong…..sigh….

So I was browsing the M.A.C. website and was looking at the face charts that they published for the collection.

I was instantly drawn to this stunning coral look, with a shot of turquoise along the waterline.  I loved it!  Coincidentally, oranges and blues are complementary and look amazing together in the right proportion.  So the coral makes the turquoise liner pop even more!!!!  A great summer look!!!!

Coral, bronze, turquoise LOTD

I may repeat this look soon, so I’ll try to take better pics!

Enjoy! 🙂
