I was inspired by beetle’s wings and decided to do a blue iridescent look. It’s a little bright, with the light, shimmery teal and a little smokey. Good for a summer night out, and black mascara completes the look!!!
So In The Groove is one of the collections coming out in July in the US. It features a bunch of mineralized products which are popular for at least one summer collection. I am definitely interested although M.A.C. can be hit or miss with the formulations, especially for the MES (sometime they come out super smooth like the first set, but others are quite grainy like last year’s).

Collection arrives July 8th in the U.S. and in August internationally

Saw this look done by Erin over @Makeup Fiend. I love this look and I have not done it in a long time!!! So I worked it out!!! Of course, it’s a great summer look, since it features golds and bronzes. This look is an easy way to use pink, which some people find hard to use sometimes. Also works well with other brights – corals, teals etc. Not too bright, used the 224 brush so that it’s a wash of colour.
The Ingredients

Another installment of my series. Today’s focus is on the cheeks.

I must admit that this is an area that I have only recently gotten into. I’m all about the eyes but I have come to realize that the right cheek colour and application could take a look to another level!!!
Again, there are many different formulations for cheek colours and these include:
Powder (the most popular)
Gel
Creams (my new favourite!)
Liquids
Mousses
So there is something there for everyone, you just need to find something that suits you.
There are a few things to take into consideration when selecting your cheek colour and formula:
So in celebration of the amazing warm weather we’ve been having, I decided to make use of one of my favourite colours of the season, coral. Honestly, I don’t know why it took me so long to discover this colour. I think it had something to do with a wedding that I was in as a child, and had to wear the MOST hideous peach bridesmaid dress ever…..and the makeup was just wrong…..sigh….
So I was browsing the M.A.C. website and was looking at the face charts that they published for the collection.

I was instantly drawn to this stunning coral look, with a shot of turquoise along the waterline. I loved it! Coincidentally, oranges and blues are complementary and look amazing together in the right proportion. So the coral makes the turquoise liner pop even more!!!! A great summer look!!!!

I may repeat this look soon, so I’ll try to take better pics!
