Hey people!

I’ve been hauling nail polishes like they going outta style!!!

I picked up a few of the hottest, most popular shades from the recent past.

No More Film is from the Essie Resort 2012 collection.

It is described as a seductive violet with a cream finish, i.e. no shimmer.  My love affair with purples continues!  No More Film is a deep, dark purple that has more blue in it than red.  It’s actually very similar to Zoya’s Pinta but this is slightly brighter/lighter with makes it light enough to be seen as purple as opposed to being seen as black.  The colour is quite dense and two coats were more than enough.  You could even get away with one!  Application was good, not too thick.  I wore this as a pedicure for one week and it held up quite well.  I really like this one!

I also picked up Jamaica Me Crazy from Essie’s Holiday 2011 collection.

I have been eyeing this polish for a while! It’s quite a bright, fuchsia/magenta with silver and pink shimmer.  There is a slight foil effect, which gives this polish an added dimension.  I applied two coats of this, which gave me full coverage.  Formula was smooth enough for easy application.  This is another good pedicure colour.  Especially on dark skin.

The next polish is China Glaze’s Concrete Catwalk from their Fall 2011 collection Metro Chic.

I saw swatches of this on Pinterest and was in lust!  Who would have thought that a grey crème would be so unbelievably stunning!!!  Stunning!! A gorgeous dark, grey crème that has a touch of blue.  It is obviously grey and would work well on all skin tones as it is not too cool.  This looks amazing on short nails.  What a standout colour!!  I have not seen any dupes for this one.  I really like that there is no shimmer in the formula so that the rich colour can shine through.  I used 2 coats for a manicure and there was no visible nail line.  Concrete Catwalk is better than black.  I strongly suggest you get it.  And with the current trend of wearing super bright colours, this would be a great colour to use.  I will be getting a backup of this!

My second China Glaze purchase is First Mate.

This is an oldie from their Spring 2011 Anchors Away collection.  A dusky, navy blue crème that will always be current.  It’s light enough for it to appear blue even in normal levels of light, but still subdued enough to be appropriate for work.  Nautical colours are always in style, especially as the weather gets warmer.  I really like this colour as well.  I don’t have close dupe for this one.  M.A.C.’s Blue India is paler and has a touch of grey to it.  This applied like a dream.  The formula is very smooth, creamy and I got almost full coverage with one coat.  A beautiful colour!

The Balm Grey Pearl is just what the label says it is – a greyed, silver shimmer.

I bought this at Ann Taylor Loft.  I have a few other polishes from The Balm and the formula is really, very good!  It’s on the thinner side and the shimmer is very fine.  As a matter of fact, this formula applies very smoothly with minimal streaking.  Out of habit, I applied two coats.   A beautiful, shiny, midtone grey.

I purchased all of these polishes from TransDesign except for the Grey Pearl, which is from Ann Taylor Loft.  The other polishes are also available in stores.

So, that’s it!…..For now!  I have some other polishes that I will be swatching soon!

Until then….Laters!
